Rosinaire Dryer |
|
The Rosinaire pilot plant is fitted with a feed hopper, variable speed feed screw conveyor, and bag filter. It can employ different heat transfer fluids such as hot water, steam, or hot oil. The Rosinaire is able to operate in Closed Cycle operation, using a small flow of recirculating nitrogen or air to sweep away the evaporated volatiles to the condenser, eliminating any potential air pollution discharge to the atmosphere. This method is ideal for evaporating solvents or for drying toxic substances. For water evaporation, it can be operated in open circuit. The Rosinaire pilot unit has been constructed to allow for the possibility of using a 2-stage drying approach in order to achieve very low residual moisture contents. In this case the Rosinaire is employed as the first stage dryer where nearly all of the heat transfer and evaporation occurs. The product from the Rosinaire is discharged into the second stage Column Dryer. |
